Ferdinand’s Ball 2015 // Muhammad Ali Center // Derby

Is not every day you get to shake the hands of Victor Espinoza, Gary Stevens and a beautiful pregnant Rosie Napravnik (the jockeys who came in 1st and 2nd place in the Kentucky Derby AND the first female jockey to win the Oaks), let alone photograph them.  This year again our team had the opportunity to contribute and be a part of one of my favorite events of Derby season here in Louisville, Ferdinand’s Ball at the Muhammad Ali Center in downtown Louisville.  This one of a kind Derby event  raises funds for Old Friends a non-profit organization that honors and provides retirement for race horses that would otherwise be sent to slaughter after their racing and breeding careers are over.

It was a wonderful experience to get to work with the amazing and caring people who make this event possible, thank you to Kim and Amy for giving me and the ChocolateBox Photography team the opportunity to give back to this wonderful cause through the red carpet donations and documenting the event (if you want to read more of their story on how Ferdinand’s Ball came to be hop on over to their feature on this month’s Nfocus louisville Magazine), thank you to all the amazing vendors who made this a beautiful night, and all the volunteers who showed up and worked hard to ensure the day was a success!
